For Prize Contest
What Burpee's Seeds
[[underlined]] Have Done for Me [[/underlined]]
When I started out for myself I used Burpee's and began to climb the ladder of fame and fortune.
Burpee's seed products have won for me 1491 prizes. These famous seeds lifted me from an obscure country boy to an envying position in "Public Service". I was chosen Secretary of our Tri-County Farmers Club and Tri-County Fairs.
Our County commissioners appointed me to prepare an exhibit for Louisiana Purchase Exposition, which brought us two gold medals and sixteen silver medals.
In Burpee's "Great Divide Potatoe Contest" I won the western prize.
The product of 1/2 pound of Burpee's Sugar Beet seed grown by me laid the foundation for the initial Sugar Factory built here, and made Colorado famous as a Beet Sugar State. Twenty one million dollars were paid to Colorado ^[[beet]] growers last year.
