W. Atlee Burpee
Phil. Pa

Dear Sirs;-

The seeds I bought of you this spring germinated exceptionally well. Prove^[[d]] true to name and of best quality. This was especially so of Radish, Lettuce, Beets, Parsnips, Peas, Chard, onions, carrots and lima ^[[my garden]] beans, has been my pride and my neighbours wonderment.

Last year seeds bought at local stores in many cases failed and where they did come proved many of them of poor quality.

Parsnips failed entirely, lettuce, beets, carrots, came very thin. Chard, Peas, Carrots and Radish were of poor variety. Radish were misnamed.

Your button Radishes were the best I ever saw and your giant Swiss Chard was a Sight, Sweet Peas had the finest shades immaginable. Your lettuce, simpson and way ahead were a sight to behold: Thomas
Saxton and Burpee's Early Peas done fine and every seed I got of you came fine. I certainly learned to buy seeds and recommend others to buy of Burpee and not to buy seeds haphazard any where I can get them. Such seeds are dear at any price, while yours are worth there weight in gold.

Very truly yours
