               Omaha, Neb, June 17th, 1879

To whom it may concern:

The bearer, Mr. T. H. Tibbles, has been connected with the Omaha Herald and the people of this part of the West for a long time, & is now engaged in defending the Indians in the courts to secure their rights and property. He brought the celebrated Ponca case in the U.S. District court for Nebraska, & now seeks to recover their [[strikethrough]] sot [[/strikethrough]] stolen reservation. I bespeak for him the utmost courtesy of the railways & the co-operation of all in the work of humanity & justice which he has undertaken
