UNITED STATES SENATE
WASHINGTON, D.C., [[/preprinted]] Feb. 11, 1896.

Hon. T. H. Tibbles,
C/o Lincoln Independent,
Lincoln, Nebr.
My Dear Tibbles:
I have been receiving for the last two or three weeks, copies of the Nebraska Independent and am glad to note the fact of very great improvement in our State paper. I am satisfied that this paper under your able and energetic management will become a power for the good of Populism, not only in Nebraska, but in adjoining States. Let me congratulate you upon the success you are meeting.
I will, within a few days, forward to Mr. Edgerton for the independent company, a small donation, and will increase this from time to time as I may be able to do so. Remember me kindly to Mrs, Tibbles and all friends.

Very truly your friend,
^[[Wm. V. Allen]]
