What Burpee's Seeds Have Done For Me.

When Alice's mother died it became expedient for Alice to live with us. She had been reared in a city and was prejudiced against a small town, and had been prejudiced against us by designing "inlaws." We were however fond of her and wanted to help her.

She was so fond of bouquets that she would gather leaves when there were no blossoms. That year we had quantities of gay annuals which she was allowed to gather as often and as many as she pleased. We also had a variety of beautiful vegetables. This was all new and interesting.

When school opened she was allowed to carry flowers to the teacher and they
