   On September 13th, 1886, a specimen of a plant was sent to this office by Mr. W.R Brown of Sanders Cal., requesting a botanical determination of the plant together with information as to its medicinal properties. On determination this plant proved to be Solidago californica, possessing the medical properties which are common to the genus Solidago.
