Transcription Notes:
Looks like printing or reproduction instructions. This sketch is reproduced in Hall's book, page 583, "ESQUIMAUX CHART, No. 2, drawn by Kooperneung (Charley) while we were at Cape True, August 1862." It appears that the compass rose is off by about 45 degrees to the right. True North is roughly straight up Frobisher Bay. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frobisher_Bay#/media/File:FrobisherBayOMC.png
