When my annual package from the "House of Burpee" arrives, I feel that the success or failure of my garden for that year has been put squarely up to me. I like a challenge of that kind. It gives me the incentive for better work on my part, for I am assured from the beginning of several things that help in the making of a successful garden.

First, I know that the seeds will germinate.  As I am most meticulous in the planning of my garden, I cannot afford to take a chance on seeds that may not sprout or on "skips" in the row, due to old or untested seeds.
