What Burpees seeds did for me
For prise contest

I got my home garden collection of seeds early in the spring but owing to weather conditions I did not get it planted until May 1st.

My father gave me a piece of ground 50 by 25 ft. It had a good many clods and stones on it so I went over it with a fine rake.

One of the things I learned was the large variety of vegetables which could be grown on such a small place, and the importance of laying off rows straight.

Among the vegetables in the collection were a number which I had never raised before, such as the swiss chard. It has proved a wonderful grower. I can cut off all the leaves except the small ones and in a few days it may be cut again.

We have gotten a great deal of pleasure and enjoyment from this garden and also some profit
