WHAT BURPEE'S SEEDS HAVE DONE FOR ME

"A wonderful opportunity to tell what Burpee's Seeds have done for me. On March 12th, there was shipped out of Philadelphia $31.15 worth of Burpee's Seeds, by express, nearly one year ago, today we are still enjoying the fruits of these seeds.

After feeding 115 people fresh vegetables, three times a day, not including extra quests, I was able to can the following:

 19 quarts Peas
214 " String Beans
 14 " Beets
 16 " Squash
 27 1/2 " Lima Beans
 16 " Red Peppers
 48 " Corn
 12 " Tomato Pickle
 20 " Tomato Soup
 15 " Tomato Preserves
29 half gallon jars cucumber pickles
628 " " " Tomatoes
 16 " " " Vegetable Soup

Besides what we have used and canned, I sold 100 5/8 baskets rutabaga turnips for $65.00, and other miscellaneous vegetables for $142.56. I have stored and now using from 100 bu. turnips, 47 bushel carrots, 75 bushel beets and over 2000 heads of cabbage.

Today we are enjoying the young tender vegetables, gathered fresh and canned before losing any of their flavor and crispness. I feel fully repaid when my family and friends exclaim "My, what delicious vegetables. They taste like they were fresh from the garden, what wonderful flavor."

But the greatest thrill comes when I look at my food bills and realize that I have saved hundreds of dollars through the small investment of $31.15.

I am enclosing a photograph showing some of the above named vegetables in jars.

My success in canning is due, first, to the selection of good seed, second to the tenderness and wonderful flavor of the vegetables they produced. I am enclosing herewith my order for 1924 seeds.

Respectfully yours,

Christena Merithew.
