    The total census of historical collections is now  [[strikethrough]]29,500[[/strikethrough]]nearly 30,000 specimens.   In the present condition of the collection caused by temporary withdrawals from exhibition etc it is impossible to [[strikethrough]]give only an[[/strikethrough]] do more than estimate the census of exhibition series [[strikethrough]]an[[/strikethrough]] distinct from those in reserve.  [[strikethrough]] The This[[/strikethrough]] Specimens [[strikethrough]]in reserve[[/strikethrough]] on exhibition number about 4500 and in temporary and permanent reserve and duplicate series about 25,500 specimens.
