29th July 1929. NW wind, very strong, but much hot sun during day.
Clara, bridge to sandflat, left bank of Avonmore, WI. as usual. 12 noon till 3 pm.
[[underlined]] Salius notatulus [[/underlined]] [[strikethrough]] 1 [[male symbol]] [[/strikethrough]] 1 [[male symbol]] [[checkmark]] The habitat for this species is now much overgrown with seedling birch, gorse &c & no bare ground is visible. Hence the species is very difficult to observe, but it is still there. A [[female symbol]] seen.

During latter half of July 1929 many [[2 female sybmols]] & 1 [[male symbol]] of [[underlined]] Pristiphora testacea [[/underlined]] [[checkmark]] RCLP. emerged from the cocoons of larvae taken on birch at Shankill, Co. DU. by A.A. Lisney in the previous June!
