5th August 1929 (Bank Holiday). A dull cold day, after a very bright morning, turning to rain on approach of a new depression in afternoon.
Drove to Scarawalsh Bridge (N. of Enniscorthy) & thence, [[underlined]] via [[/underlined]] Milehouse, to [[underlined]] Kiltrea Bridge [[/underlined]] (River Urrin) where collected for an hour in quite good ground with some old oak stumps. 
Afterwards drove through Caim, along  S. edge of remains of Killoughrum Forest, past Ballyhyland, N. to Woodbrook, Boladurragh, & Newtown Barry; thence home [[underlined]] via [[/underlined]] Carnew & Gorey.  Some quite promising ground seen along R. Urrin about Woodbrook & from Blackies Bridge to Doram's Cross Roads.
At Kiltrea Bridge I saw or collected.
[[underlined]] Bombus lucorum, hortorum [[/underlined]][[2 male symbols]], [[underlined]] agrorum [[/underlined]]
[[underlined]] Andrena coitana [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]]
[[underlined]] Vespa sylvestris [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]] & ? [[2 virgin female symbols]].
[[underlined]] Athalia lineolata & Tenthredo arcuata & Tenthredella livida [[/underlined]].
Dyspetes praerogator.  [[underlined]] Pimpla turionellae [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]].
[[underlined]] Lissonota bellator [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]].  [[underlined]] L. variabilis [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]], on wild carrot near Milehouse.
[[underlined]] Glypta mensurator [[/underlined]], small [[female symbol]].  [[underlined]] G. ceratites [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]].

6th August 1929.  A warm day, with some sun, but numerous thunderstorms.
Kilcarry Bridge (R. Slaney) Co. CW. & the glen of the GLASHA or GLASHAVEIGH river which flows into Slaney from W. just below bridge.  12.30 till 5pm.  Fine from 1.30 till 4pm.
[[underlined]] Bombus lucorum [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 virgin female symbols]].  [[underlined]] B. hortorum [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]].
[[underlined]] B. agrorum [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]].  [[underlined]] B. muscorum [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] (2 or 3). 
[[underlined]] B. lapidarius [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]] numerous.
[[underlined]] Psithyrus distinctus & P. barbutellus [[/underlined]] 
[[underlined]] Andrena marginata [[/underlined]] 4 [[2 male symbols]], 3 [[2 female symbols]] very fresh & almost black specimens.  1 [[male symbol]] on [[underlined]] Scobiosa succisa, [[/underlined]] rest on [[underlined]] Carduus palustris. [[/underlined]]  Scobiosa not yet nearly out except for a few flowers.
[[underlined]] A. coitana [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] [[underlined]] A. denticulata [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]], one very worn & [[insertion]] [[checkmark]] RCLP. [[/insertion]] & looked like [[underlined]] wilkella. [[/underlined]]
[[underlined]] Halictus rubicundus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]], [[underlined]] H. calceatus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]].  [[underlined]] H. albipes [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & fresh [[female symbol]].
[[underlined]] H. tumulorum [[/underlined]] fresh [[female symbol]] & [[male symbol]].  [[underlined]] H. leucopus [[/underlined]] fresh [[female symbol]] seen.
[[underlined]] Nomada rufipes [[/underlined]] 2 fresh & large [[2 male symbols]].
[[underlined]] Salius exaltatus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]], (small ? [[female symbol]] seen of this sp.)
[[underlined]] Mellinus arvensis [[/underlined]] 
[[underlined]] Crabro varius [[/underlined]] ? seen. [[underlined]] C. chrysostomus [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]]
[[underlined]] Myrmica schencki [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]] on path W. from Slaney up glen.  [[underlined]] Larus fuligonosus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] in hundreds, [[2 virgin female symbols]], but no [[female symbol]] seen!
