26th August 1929.  A very fine sunny day, but not many things out, though many winged ants ([[underlined]] Myrmica [[/underlined]]) seen & caught by motor.  Afternoon.  With O'Mahony!  Athdown, Upper Liffey, WI.  3 till 5.30 pm.  Spent a few minutes at site of old saw mill at Kippure Lodge but saw no sign of any hymenoptera at stumps &c then went to Athdown footbridge where collected rest of afternoon.  Very few aculeatas seen!
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum & lucorum [[/underlined]] only a very few seen.
[[underlined]] Halictus albipes [[/underlined]] 1 or 2 [[2 male symbols]] on Golden Rod & Scabious.
[[underlined]] Pemphredon lugubris [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]]
Icks. also rare & only a few plants of [[underlined]] Angelica [[/underlined]] to be seen.
[[underlined]] Dyspetes praerogator [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] Lissonota bellator [[/underlined]] [[insertion]] ^ [[male symbol]] & [[female symbol]] [[/insertion]] seen.
Lissonota sulphurifera ? [[male symbol]]. 
[[underlined]] L. errabunda [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] ?.
