Drove past waterworks (Arklow) & to back gate of Glenart Castle, then southwards through Johnstown across Wexford boundary to glen of [[space]], where very good swampy ground full of birch, willow & alder; also oak woods. Saw here [[underlined]] Bombus terrestris [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]]. [[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]], many In Glenart woods at back gate much Holly under oak & very nice ground: saw [[underlined]] Bombus jonellus [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] here. No sign of icks although some hot sun. Stitchwort & Wood Sorrel well out at latter plan. [[line across page]] 19th April 1930. Much sun till 4 P.M., but Northerly gale all day & very cold except in shelter. Dull, with sleet showers after 5 o'clock. 11-30 till 3.30. Woods & sand flat below Clara Bridge, WI, as usual. [[underlined]] Andrena lapponica [[/underlined]] several [[2 male symbols]]. No icks seen though hot sun & sheltered.
