Pleasant all day - About 1" of snow on ground - At some places snow is beaten down and it makes it suitable for sleighing, but it is only "here and there" -

Both Collieries idle - R. R. Co running cars, but we had enough coal in the breakers to load all our cars

We have a great many men out today - Hoisting out the rock, loading cars etc etc at both Collieries -

Condemned 6/4 cars Chestnut at Vulcan today, part of which we sent to New Boston, and the remaining will be hauled to our tenants et al --

Gondola cars are scarce -- Mr Kishbaugh wants Mr Jones to take up this question with the "L.V." people as he says we are loosing many orders on this acct --

Only worked 17 hours at each Colliery this week - hard times -

Snow melting slowly -

Both Collieries idle - R.R. not running cars -

We have some men out at both Collieries, timbering, getting out rock, and other necessary things -

Mr. Jones spoke to Delano today about getting more gondolas for our Collieries - They said that they had written "Wilbur" for 300 per day and promised that we would get a good share of them next week -- (Perry at phone) Wrote Mr Kishbaugh about the prospects -

The #5 slope at Buck Mountain will soon be completed - Have men working at it steadily laying track etc - The #4 tunnel is progressing quite rapidly - Have passed the Middle Split of the Mammoth and we are now going for the top split (north dip)

At Vulcan we are working all the veins cut by the 2nd lift tunnel - Also working the C. Vein Gangways East & West on the 1st Lift - Are robbing back the 1st West B Vein - Mining about 25% B-Mtn - Are not mining any coal from the 3rd lift - Coal trade is very very poor - Prices low - although the basis is 5% above -
