Very disagreeable all day- Snowed a little last night, covered ground- Turned into rain this morning, and everything is covered with a coat of soft ice- Foggy this P.M. and particularly so this evening- It seems to be about 2 hours later now, than this time last night, as now it is almost dark, while last evening at this time it was comparatively day light-

Both Collieries idle to day- R.R. Co not running cars- Very few men working at either Colliery- More at Buck Mtn. than Vulcan- of course-.

Sent Mr Lathrop to day by mail, (9.30) a tabular statement, showing the tons shipped, day^[[insertion]]s[[/insertion]] worked, and average tons per day, for nearly all the Collieries around here & Hazleton, for the years 1895 & 1896. Statement shows that [[underscore]] our [[/underscore]] Collieries did not work as much time within; from 9 to 34 days, of the L.V. Collieries [[strikethrough]] did [[/strikethrough]] in 1896. Expect to have our allotment increased- We certainly should- Only worked 7.7 days at each Colliery last month, and we are going about the same gait this month- so far-

[[strikethrough]] Nothing else of any note to record- [[/strikethrough]]

Cloudy- otherwise pleasant- Very "sloppy"-

Both Collieries idle- R.R. Crew was in at Vulcan this last 2 days, tranferring coal from broken to sound cars, and cleaning up a wreck, amounting to 2 cars being broken, caused by the coal crew the other foggy morning-As the coal was shoveled 3 times, from one car to the other, it broke up the Coal somewhat, (stove) Some of the coal was scattered on the ground, and in loading it off more or less dirt was mixed in with it- Spoke to Delano, per Mr. Kishbaugh's request, and found that they were willing to take the Coal themselves- (Per Glenn) Would not do to ship this dirty coal to any of our customers-

Received an answer from Mr. Lathrop to day, in answer to Mr Jones's relative to getting an increased car allotment- Looks decidedly doubtful that we will get it-

Everybody suspended at the Collieries, and everything quiet-
