Both Collieries idle-  RR Co not running cars -

The general repairing squads are working today - At Buck mountain the work of trunking the 3rd East is going on steadily, night and day - Have a squad working at the new bottom on 3rd lift constantly -
At Vulcan we are cleaning the 2nd Lift Sunup -
At Buck Mountain, we have our force of carpenters, from both collieries, working at the breaker building - strengthening the structure here and there -

Everything quiet -

Received 1 doz. lanterns at each Colliery - Lanterns have a number stamped on each - Will be given out to Chute Bosses, Oilers, etc, to Carpenters, et al when making repairs in the breaker - Will be charged up to the person, and he will be furnished with a brass ticket with a number stamped thereon, to correspond with the number on his lantern - Lanterns may be left at supply House for safe keeping - no repairing of any kind to the breaker, will be allowed, with naked lights -

Carpenters & smiths working - Squad tinkering 3rd east at B. Mtn. Carpenters working at BMtn Breaker - Squad working at pipe line, Vulcan, from #1 Well to Boilers -
