Blanchard's drill was unloaded today at Vulcan - Will put down hole #3

Vulcan Colliery worked 8 hours - Have 25 1/2 cars of Condemned nut & Stove to run through - BMtn worked 10 hours, and hoisted 411 cars of coal - Will expect big hoists from BMtn, from now out, on account of transferring all coal from 3 - 4 & 5th Lifts, from #2 to #1 slope, on the 2nd Lift

Thought it was going to be very very warm this day, as it was warm this morning; but it was not so very -

Rained this pm - Lasted about an hour, but it did rain and blow while it lasted - Sky was black -

Both Collieries idle - Running through condemned coal at Vulcan - Have had 75/4 of chestnut & Stove condemned this week - 

Loading Buck Wheat from stock here at New Boston. 13 men 32 quarters, equal to 175 tons - 

Everything quiet -

Asked "Delano" to-day (Mr Jones) for to put cars into BMtn on Monday and Tuesday, of next week, (their program [[strikethrough]] been [[/strikethrough]] is to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) so that we could put our whole force of carpenters at work on the Breaker, to start Wednesday morning, and be ready to start the following Tuesday - (Have big job to do - Part of the main supports to be torn out and replaced by new ones) Delano said, "Yes they would" In the meantime they have asked Lathrop, and have reported to him the reason of our wanting the cars on Monday", so they say, and Lathrop instructed them not to accommodate us by putting cars in on odd days - - Rough -

Telephoned Mr. Jones to Hazleton, at once - Will  work Monday if cars are put in Saturday -
