Also to drive a tunnel from the Seven Foot gangway to the Skidmore on the 1st Lift, West side - Thomas S. McNair of Hazleton was here this AM - We ordered the Compressed Air Locomotives, Piping etc, from H K Porter & Co, and the Compressor from the Norwalk Iron Works Co., to-day - Men here at New Boston loading the 10 cars of BWheat in stock - for LVRR Co So Easton - Also have men loading 2 trucks with brick, for BMtn Colliery, where it will be used for constructing a fan draft plant - which so far - has not been ordered, but will be, probably, this week - [[End Page]] [[Start Page]] [[preprinted]] June, FRIDAY, 18. 1897. Co. not running cars - The usual squads of men are working in and around the Colliery, repairing and cleaning up - Carpenters are putting in the new Christ (Nut) Jig at Vulcan - Everything quiet - 39/4 cars of BWht have been loaded here at New Boston, from stock - Asked for 40/4 received 39 - The men are now loading brick (2 trucks) for BMtn. - The Committee sent out by the Legislature, to examine into the condition of the miners of the Anthracite Coal Region, have made out their report - Same was published in the Pottsville Miners [[strikethrough]] table [[/strikethrough]] Journal - [[End Page]]
