Everything quiet - Telephones, private line, still unable to work - JMR took them to Pottsville, to Moore, to have repaired - Want new bells for New Boston and BMtn Colliery, also new induction coils for same - 

Few men working at Collieries repairing etc - [[strikethrough]] RR Co in [[/strikethrough]] Collieries idle -

This was another hot day - 

Both Collieries idle - 

Mr. K. & W.H.L. at Vulcan Bert and Pat at Bmtn - 

Today at the Collieries, we were ascertaining who were American Citizens and who were not  - in regard to Alien Tax Law - Had list of employees of each Colly - When man came for check he was challenged  - Had to start early this morning so as to get through in time - Great many Aliens working for us - This law causes a great deal of clerical work, and note the date we are paying - Have done this so that Mr. Jones could sign all monthly statements, which he did on [[strikethrough]] Wednesday [[/strikethrough]] Tuesday 6th inst - Books came from Collieries on the 29th July, but still there was hustling done - 

Private tel. line is in #1 train - Bought 2 bells and 3 induction coils - 1 Bell B Mtn Colly the other here - Pennsylvania Tel. man went over line and placed bells etc -
