Back of our house was an unsightly dump, mostly ashes. This I leveled and followed closely the instructions of Burpee's sweet pea leaflet, planting in March a dollar collection of Burpee's sweet peas. I have done this for three years with marvelous results. I invariably hear from people that they cannot raise sweet peas. The trouble with them is they do not know how I spaced the seed 1 1/2" apart using birch brush. I induced two women to try Burpee's sweet peas, they had a surprise this summer.
