FOR PRIZE CONTEST 1925 NO. 19

In January I bought six dollars worth of Burpee seeds. I planted Tomatoes, Peppers, Cabbage, Egg-plant, Cucumbers, Canteloupes and Squash in hot-beds for early market. I sold seventy dollars worth of the plants to neighbors.

Later I planted Turnips, Beans, Peas, Okra, Butter-beans and Corn. Late frost killed some plants and the drought and hot winds damaged my garden very much.

I have sold three hundred and seventy five dollars worth of vegetables, and I have lots more to sell. I have served three or more vegetables on my table twice daily and canned one hundred and forty seven quarts.
