Cogdell was arrested and sent to this city by the Post Commandant at Goldsboro. On the 6' inst. on the application of Cogdells counsel who said their client could easily prove an [[underlined]] Alibi; [[/underlined]] but that he was denied a hearing in the preliminary examination. Cogdell was released on parole, and the papers in his case returned to the Post Commandant at Goldsboro with the following endorsement. Respectfully returned to Lieut. Geo. H. Granger, 28" Mich. Inf. Comdg. Post of Goldsboro. This man has been ordered released from confinement, and returned to Goldsboro to report to Lieut. Granger on his parole.
