Dist. This account was presented to me after being relieved from duty. The services were rendered at a time when the Hospital was not under control of the Bureau. It had been managed by the City government & dropped, and during the interval until the Bureau took it up had no attendance except that furnished by this man, there being 18 or 20 freedmen in it as patients. Although the man cannot be taken up among list of employees, I think he is entitled to some compensation. The [[underlined]] provisional [[/underlined]] government of the City under which the Hospital was established was long ago suspended. Endst. of Col. Brady, Supt. &c. Respectfully referred to Asst. I hold five buildings as Bureau property, one of which is used as a Hospital for freedmen and four other small buildings, which have been applied for by the Friend's Freedmen's Aid Association of Phila.
