Rosekrans was relieved from duty in the Bureau May 26" 1866 and was, according to his own statement, mustered out of Service, Sept. 16th 1866. and was not appointed an agent of the Bureau until February 1st 1868. making an interval of 17 months that he was not in the Bureau.
