JOSE FERRER
[[italics]] as Iago [[/italics]]

Jose Ferrer, of Puerto Rico, Princeton and New York, first came to theatrical light as an assistant stage manager in "A Slight Case of Murder." He soon changed his profession to that of actor and has been working at it ever since. "Brother Rat," "How To Get Tough About It," "Missouri Legend" and "Mamba's Daughters" preceded an assignment as director at The Mount Kisco Playhouse, where he conceived the production of "Charley's Aunt" that brought him to stardom in New York.

UTA HAGEN
[[italics]] as Desdemona [[/italics]]

Daughter of a professor of Fine Arts, Miss Hagen played "Ophelia" in Eva Le Gallienne's production of "Hamlet," and from that went into The Theatre Guild's production of "The Sea Gull," starring Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. Her appearance in that play set the theatre on its calloused ear, and she followed it with "Key Largo," in which her husband, Jose Ferrer, also played. She then took time out to bring a new Ferrer into the world, and that done is now Desdemona.
