23/6/31 Evening 7 till 9 pm. with Palmer.
Drove to central lodge (late Brady's) Glenasmole, DU. to watch [[underlined]] Rhyssa persuasoria [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] boring in trellis on footbridge & paling by lower reservoir.
During the early part of the boring process the ovipositor has the sheath held in position & all three seem to be gripped between the mid coxae : later where the drill has entered the wood the sheathes are drawn away & the ovipositor has no support from the conae.
See sketch
Many [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] seen though reported by Palmer & Westropp some weeks previously!
