28th June 1931. A perfect day, after misty morning!
Drove to Coan, Glen of Imaal & ascended Lugnaquillia via Litte Glaney. Co. WI. with Palmer
Stopped in Merginstown Glen on route where took Acrodactyla degener [[female symbol]], only : = 1.
Stopped again 10.30 till 11.00 AM at bridge over Slaney at Davidstown = labelled [[boxed]] "Glen of Imaal": [[strikethrough]] 2 " [[/strikethrough]] [[/boxed]]
Then drove on to Coan & collected for two hours up the Little Slaney to about 1/2 mile above the old military reservoir = [[boxed]] [[strikethrough]] "Glen of Imaal : 3" [[/strikethrough]] Coan Co. WI. AWS [[/boxed]] [[insertion]] No. 3. [[/insertion]]
Then climbed up slope of Lug to near summit & examined [[underlined]] Salix herbacea [[/underlined]] for sawflies, but none seen & dropped into N. Prison, saw Parsley Fern & came out at bottom. Here, on cliffs of N. Prison took 2 Tryphonids & on floor of Prison by old lake site 
1 large Tryphonid & small reddish sp. amongst rushes & also says [[underlined]] Dolerus aeneus [[/underlined]] = [[boxed]] "Lug." [[strikethrough]] Glen of Imaal [[/strikethrough]] = in 4" [[/boxed]]
On descent & after tea again collected by Little Slaney close to road at 6 to 7.30 pm. = [[boxed]] [[strikethrough]] Glen of Imaal : 5" [[/strikethrough]] Coan. S. [[/boxed]]

[[underlined]] N. fabriciana [[/underlined]] fresh [[2 female symbols]] at 3 & 5 near ford but no sign of a possible host! [[underlined]] N. flavoguttata [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] at 3 & 5.
