During the year two publications were issued in the Indian Notes and Monographs, Miscellaneous series: The Tsatchela Indians of Western Ecuador, No. 51, by V. Wolfgang von Hagen, and Calendrical Interpretation of a Golden Breastplate from Peru, No. 52, by Ruth Cutter Nash.

A special reprint was issued, in an edition of 250 copies, of A Square Kiva at Hawikuh, New Mexico. By F.W. Hodge. From the Hewett Anniversary Volume 1939.

The sales of publications amounted to $411.33 and of the two series of postcards to $83.74.

[[underlined]] PHOTOGRAPHIC DEPARTMENT. [[/underlined]]

This department was greatly enriched this year by the gift of Mrs. Fred R. Meyer of Buffalo, New York, who presented the Museum with the late Mr. Meyer's collection of negatives, positives and lantern slides, taken among the Crow and Blackfoot Indians in the early nineteen hundreds. This gift totaled 860 objects.
