The annual report for the fiscal year ending April 1, 1946, of the Board of Trustees to the Grantor, under the provisions of the Foundation Deed dated May 10, 1916, was duly presented to this meeting and was approved, and the original filed with the Grantor and a copy inserted in the minute book, as part of the records of this meeting. 

At the annual meeting the Chairman submitted a proposed budget for the fiscal year 1946-1947, with a comparative statement showing the budget for the year 1945-1946, as adopted, and a statement of the actual expenditures for the latter period.  On motion, duly made and seconded, the proposed budget for the year 1946-1947 as submitted by the Chairman was approved and adopted. 

The Treasurer presented reports at all meetings. 

Authorization was given to lend to the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center a number of specimens to be selected by the Chairman. 

The Chairman recommended that the Museum finance to the extent of $500.00 an archaeological expedition on the Big Black and Pearl rivers in the State of Mississippi.  This sum was authorized for reconnaissance work and to be undertaken by Mr. William F. Stiles. 

At the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees held on October 1, 1946, the authorization was given for Mr. William P. Stiles to continue to undertake the excavation work on the Pearl River.
