12: The party went out to the cocoa plantation near Culebra  out with Barrett at 7 A.M. & returned about noon. I remained in town.

14: except cook who went to Panama to visit Piltier, a D.A. botanist recovering from an operation.
14: The party except me took the 11: AM train for Panama where they spent the day.
15: Packed our trunk at the Hotel Washington & went on board the Chilian Steamer [[Hirosco ?]] which was loading at the Colon Pier or Cristobal as the port is now called by
