[[/preprinted]] the morning cold & unpleasant no wood to be had around the Hospital & we had no fire so a cold & a Disagreeable Room we had of it after it was scrubbed out, which the Nurses were obliged to do obey orders if the sick & wounded died from the effects of it. [[preprinted]] THURSDAY, JANUARY 5, 1865. [[/preprinted]] The morning tolerable cool though pleasant. Nothing going on around the Hospital of interest - my wounds getting along tolerable well.
