morning clear & Beautiful at Roll call a series of orders from the Surgeon on charge were read after listening to which I taken a long walk along the Banks of the River a mile or two came back & went to Guard mounting after Guard mount went to the Banks of the River again & under the Shade of the old oak I studied to considerable extent the 1st vol Casys Tactics 5.000 
Rebs reported at Waterbury without any artillery

the morning clear & Beautiful arose early taken a walk went to Breakfast after which as is my style of late I strolled along the Banks of the River in search of curiosities. Roll Call at 11 A.M. Dinner at 12 after which I visited the Grave Yard & visited the Graves of some of my old comrades who died of wounds received at the Battle of Honey Hill Nov 30/64
In the evening the chaplain for some time played on his melodeon some favorite tunes which were delightful to listen to
