[[/preprinted]] the morning fair & pleasant still on Board the Croton, the Steamer Ben diford [[Deford]] hove in sight early anchored off Mount Pleasant the Q M ordered her to the dock. when the Croton went along side & & loaded what we had on her shortly afternoon everything being ready she [[pushed?]] out from the dock & started on her voyage [[end page]] [[start page]] [[preprinted]] SATURDAY, SEPT. 16, 1865. [[/preprinted]] the morning cloudy & appearances for rain favorable. the B Deford ploughing the mighty deep with a devil of a head wind making but slow progress some on board a little sea sick but nothing apparently speaking of
