My Dear Professor Baird.

During the month of October the force under my charge have been engaged as follows:--

[[underline]] Miss Latham, [[/underline]] copying catalogues, making a card catalogue of Mr. Goode's Museum classification, and attending to my own indexing as far as I have been able to go.

[[underline]] Mr. Sweeny, [[/underline]] mounting specimens for New Orleans. This work has gone slowly for the reason that every single object had to be found before it could be mounted.

[[underline]] Mr. Clayton, [[/underline]] keeping the catalogue, marking specimens, assorting the old collections, making up lots for Mr. Sweeny and Mr. Hawley.

[[underline]] Mr. Hawley, [[/underline]] kept very busy mounting for New Orleans, Going [[??]] the first part of the month. Oct. 17th, his force went to work for the Bureau of Ethnology, Mr. Clayton.
