My Dear Professor Baird.
        I send you my report for the month of December, 1884.
[[underlined]] Work. [[/underlined]]
  During the month of December I have had in my Dept. Miss Latham, Mr. Sweeny, and [[overwritten]] Miss [[/overwritten]] Mr. Clayton. Miss Latham has devoted her time to three matters:
1. The copying of Mr. Goode's mss.  classification upon museum cards for the purpose of criticism and revision.
2. Copying the volumes of the Ethnological Department into the duplicate series. 
3. Copying and arranging my scattered notes on ethnology into a card catalogue for the purposes of study and labeling.
Mr. Sweeny has been occupied as follows:
1. The first few days of the month mounting objects
