Prof S F Baird
         Sir.
The objects recorded ^[[in]] the month of October were limited to a small collection of Pottery vessels brought by Mr Rafael Iglesias, a donation, from near Cervantes in Costa Rica. They are numbered from 107351 to 107363, being of the usual patterns and painted devices common to that locality.
A part of the month was spent in restoring articles of Pueblo Pottery brought by Messrs Mendeleff from the Moquis and broken during transportation. The fragments however being much scattered and lost rendered this work very imperfect.
Mr. Holmes having found some of the pottery specimens in his charge not fully labelled as to locality has requested me to supply the [[defict.]], which I have done, but with many interruptions from personal indisposition.
     Respectfully
        E Foreman

Transcription Notes:
Names/places checked/verified (errors and misspellings like Mendeleff when it should be Mindeleff have been preserved). "defict." may be abbreviation for deficiency? - seems more probable transcription of word than "defect"
