Prof S F Baird
    Director &c. Sir
No Ethnological objects have been presented the past month to be entered on the record.
Of the specimens of Pottery and Stone Implements which have been recorded for a year past, the marks having become effaced or not being sufficient as to number, locality, collector &c, it was deemed best by Prof C Thomas to have those relating to Mounds remarked. As many of the record numbers cover over five hundred pieces (arrow heads and fragments of Pottery) much time has been consumed in carrying on the work.
     Respectfully &c
          E Foreman
