My dear Professor Baird:
During the month of [[underlined]] April [[/underlined]] the force in the Department of Ethnology consisted of the Curator, Messrs Latham, and Messrs. Sweeny, Clayton, and Pangert.  The Curator was absent until the 23rd of the month in New Orleans.  During that time Mr. Sweeny and Clayton arranged the drawers and fixed up the Balcony.  Miss Latham was sick most of the time.
