Whittlesey, for the releif of Capt.Lawrence A.Q.M. by Capt. Lentz, A.Q.M., states that Maj. Lawrence's record is very creditable to him & Capt. Lentz has less experience & is not so well qualified for the duties of an A.Q.M. & unless there is suficient reason assigned for the change, the Q.M. Genl. prefers that Capt. Lentz be ordered to his home when his services can be dispensed with.
