May 3rd | 53. Smith Anderson (Void. see S 34) E.B.p.221 | Wilson's Store, Stokes Co. N. C. Apr 22nd 1867 States that he employed a colored boy from his masters agt in 1865. When the boy became free he hired and paid him for his services. The agent now threatens to bring suit for the hire of the boy — asks advice.

States that he has been called on by a negro man in reference to two children, relative's of his, who were bought by a white citizen of that place in Jany previous to closing the war. The relatives of the children desire their custody so as to send them to school.
