May 27 67 Writes on behalf of hist sister who is working for one Dr. Fox in Charlotte who treats her badly and requests that she be returned to him at New Bern.

June 5th  65. | Beals H. S. Asst. Am. Miss. Association E.B.p 249. | Beaufort N.C. May 8th 1867. Petitions the Bureau for an appropriation of $150.00 for fitting up a school building for freedmen on the New Bern road ten miles from Beaufort. States that the school would be within the reach of from 80 to 100 children. Also requests an appropriation from the Bureau of $450 for fitting up a school building for freedmen at Swansboro, Onslow Co. N.C.
