I & II is wider than I and almost as strong. These two are the most conspicuous. Shading seen in the spectrum from 4762 to the violet. Very faint towards violet. H & K not seen. beta Grucis 5650 1 [[superscript]] 5 [[/superscript]] 4227.0 [[strikethrough]] 2-3 [[/strikethrough]] ^[[4-5]] times as strong as in alpha Orionis H gamma = 4326.0 Spectrum seen to 5168. Bright bands I and bet. I & II much stronger than in alpha [[strikethrough]] Tau [[/strikethrough]] Orionis. Lines are not sharp towards red end. In absorption bands, lines seem to be obliterated. Is this due to focus? Spectrum seen to beyond K, light almost even Very little change at 4307.
