the preparation of two labels for the same specimen and also to guard against exchanging such specimens as duplicates. The copies of labels sent on white paper are attached to our standard card catalogue so as to preserve them in one place.
By order of the Director, the curator spent 10 days in August in examining the [[underlined]] collections [[/underlined]] in [[underlined]] Cincinnati [[/underlined]] and investigating the remains of the former inhabitants of Ohio and Indiana. The collection of the Natural History Society in Cincinnati is in an unsatisfactory condition but this was owing the enlargement of their quarters.
