has made new cards for the specimens as they have been received, and entered in the register. He has also prepared many cards for old specimens which have come up for examination. 

At the request of the Assistant Director he has also aided the Curator in preparing manuscript labels for the Public Printer.

In addition to the routine work of the department, Mr. Sweeney has devoted much time to the arrangement of the great type series of arrows, quivers bows, and shields to illustrate the art of war among our aborigines. He has also begun to arrange the Japanese court, made feasible by the moving of Dr. Adler's collection.

In my private office, Miss Latham's time has been entirely taken up with work on the type-writer. She has prepared a card catalogue of geographic names besides copying several important manuscripts. 

Mr. Tracy has rendered valuable service in the matter of keeping pace with the modern and ancient literature of anthropology.
