January 11th 1921

Mrs. Cornelia B. Sage Quinton
Albright Gallery
Buffalo, N.Y.

Dear Mrs. Quinton,-

It is here in New York that I have received your and your husband's most kind wishes for Christmas and the New Year.

If personally I did not send you mine, it is that up to the last minute I thought I would be able to accept the Park Lewis's very lovely invitation to spend a few days with them around the holidays. Unfortunately, having been detained by illness and a trip to the Middle West, I have not been able to do so, and therefore wish now, though very late, to send you my very sincere wishes for a happy 1921 for you both.

Let me tell you that I feel sad to have to leave this country on January 20th without having seen you.

Last year you mentioned the possibility of a trip to Europe, and we hope all - being sure to express the feelings of my whole family - that we will have the pleasure of seeing you both this Spring or Summer in Paris.

With thanks for you charming thought, pray believe me,

Yours very sincerely,
