to help booming them, writing them up, illustrating them in the papers, etc. I think it ought to be done, - I hope you will not believe that I am talking from a business point of view, -but to make the people of your city realize what perfectly splendid lot they will be shown at your Museum, and this can only be done by properly explaining the people what they see.

You know that the lighting of tapestries is a very delicate matter; they must not have side light not too crude a top light; the best light is the front light.

I believe your Museum of course is fire-proof and depend upon your great care to look after these tapestries in the proper way.
Let me hear from you very soon and let me know what you want me to do, whether I am to send them now or later. Kindly return the catalogue of the San Francisco Exhibition as it is the only copy we possess. Enclosed please find list and photos.

Kindly remember me to your dear husband, and with my cordial greetings, I remain,

Yours faithfully,

P.S.- I would make an effort to be in Buffalo on the opening day of your exhibition, if you think that an opening day for which you would send special invitation cards to notabilities of the town and newspaper men is the right thing to do. After thinking the matter over, I am wondering whether it would not be better to have the opening day on the 3rd or 4th of January?-

N.B.- I am sorry to say that I have no photograph of the series of four tapestries of Stowe House and have no time to have these tapestries photographed before I send them to you.
