Miss Belle Greene,
123 East 38th street
New York

My dear sweet friend,-
I wanted to pay you a visit this morning and try and have you for lunch or dinner before Sunday, but to my great astonishment and regret I hear that you have gone to Philadelphia and will not be back before Monday.

I feel very unhappy about it because we are goin next Sunday night to Boston and ^[[when]] we return we will go West. I have decided to sail on the 14th of December and I fear that I will not have a minute to spare before I leave.

I assure you, my dear sweet friend, that I would be unhappy if I had to leave the country without having had you for lunch or dinner.

With my best compliments to all your dear ones, believe me,
Yours very sincerely,
