February 18th 1920

Mr. C. H. Hechler
Harbor Hill
Roslyn, L.I.

Dear Sir,-

I received your letter of February 16th, and am really not able to give you any precise information about the groups which seem to have arrived in New York, as at this office we have received no information whatever about this shipment.

I think the only place where the exact weight will be known is the Custom House broker in New York through whom the cases are imported. I think this information may be in possession of your office in the city.

Judging in a general way, I presume that such a group would weigh about 1000 lbs, unless the base be especially heavy. From what I remember, the statues in your garden weigh about 800 lbs each, without the pedestal, and the group of two children with an animal may consequently be about 1000 lbs, unless they are much more than life size. It is of course impossible to give even an approximate figure without seeing the object.

Very truly yours,
